Retirement is officially over!

Yes, i considered myself retired when we moved to California but after 1-2 weeks of laying by the pool, cleaning and getting our apartment organized, developing new and random hobbies I was ready for a job. Trust me, you can only clean your apartment so many times a day until you start going a little nuts.

It took about 4 weeks to find a great job that I am excited about. So a BIG yahoo for Misses employed.

Welcome to California

Wow, I have never seen so many cars, freeways, or people in all of my life!

With that said, I was pleasantly surprised by the beauty of California. People gave us SO many ugly faces and gruff about California but now I can see that they have never been here and had no idea what they were talking about lol. We live in an area called the "Inland Empire", we are surrounded by gorgeous huge mountains (It honestly makes me feel like I am in Utah) and trees. We love it!

We found an adorable unfurnished apartment (wow, having to buy all your owe stuff put us in a price coma, furniture is EXPENSIVE) . We will upload before and after pictures once we finish getting everything and decorating.

Mike started optometry school and had his official "White Coat" ceremony, a.k.a "you are now a professional". It was super fun and I was SO proud of my hubby standing up there getting initiated into school.

(sorry for the crappy pictures, it was super low light and far away)

Our Trip Is Over
Bitter, bitter, bitter, and maybe a little sweet

Well were to begin, 6 months of traveling with the love of my life was amazing!

A few things our trip gave us:
Unity, Mike and I have always worked well together, were kinda like "yin and yang" but spending 24 hours a day with someone for 6 months straight teaches you a whole new concept of unity. We know that no matter what life throws at us that "together" we can get through it and handle it.

Loosen Up, life is to short not to have fun, do what you want, achieve goals, laugh and be completely silly. Sometimes you get into the same old "routine" of life, my advice and something we learned was to break out of the "norm", be you, and do things that make you utterly happy!

Life is Good, no matter where you're at in your life (jobless, boy friendless, sick, no money, lonely, had a bad day, don't like your hair, got a few extra pounds around your mid section, etc........) life is good. I honestly believe that no one has reason to complain in North America we are so blessed.
We have: Running water, a roof over our heads, a free government, gov. assistance if needed, education, roads, internet, technology, animals on leashes, jobs (no matter how bad we think our economy is, it is never as bad as the majority of economies in South and Central America), cars, educated doctors, I could seriously make this list go on forever.
Remember always how blessed we are!

To end our fabulous trip we booked ourselves into a week long get away at one of Cancun's finest ALL inclusive resorts.

The Grand Oasis

Inside our resort

One of our favorite restaurants, the view over the ocean was gorgeous!

Walking to the pool and beach

One of our favorite spots

We finished our trip with a BANG and LOVED every second of it!

California here we come!
