Happy Birth- DAY to ME!

Yep, August 26th is my birthday!

The day started out with a beautiful bouquet of my favorite flowers, plumerias, on my bed stand.

And then I was served a scrumptious breakfast! Did I tell you how much I love birthdays? I don't know if its just the fact I love to be spoiled or I really like getting older, yeah I think its the spoiling that I love.

My husband is amazing!!!

The not so fun part of my Birth-Day .................going to work!

Then at work I was surprised again.

Did I tell how amazing and talented my husband is?
Well check out this edible fruit arrangement HE made!

It had all my favorite delicious fruit; strawberries & bananas dipped in chocolate, pineapple, cantaloupe, oranges, grapes, & apples

That night, we hung out ate dinner and watched a movie

What a perfect Birthday!

Happy Birth-Week to Me!

First of all let me start this blog but stating that I truly have the BEST husband in the world!

To me birthdays are a HUGE deal. I love my birthday (I think its party due to the fact that my mom always threw me killer awesome parties, thanks mom)!!!

For about a month now I have been telling Mike that my birthday "Week" is coming up and I am so excited. At first he was a little confused about the concept of a "Happy Birth-Week" but the more I told him of how cool it would be to celebrate a birthday for a whole week rather than just a day the more he started to "go along with" my idea. Honestly I thought the idea just went in one of his ears and out the other.

On August 22, I woke up to this fabulous hand made Birth-Week celebration calendar. Every day I get to open a box! Seriously he made and decorated each box, didn't I tell you I have the best husband!

#1 Day of Birth-Week Celebration

A Surprise PARTY!!!! I have never been more surprised in my life!

How it all went down: After Church on Sunday Mike said he was cooking a surprise dinner so I had to stay out of the kitchen. I was totally happy about this so I went into the bedroom to work on my website.

Just as dinner was getting done my friend Andrea texted me and told me that she needed her scissors back and that they were out of toilet paper and wanted to borrow some. I texted her and told her to come get some. She then texted back and asked for me to bring them over. I was reluctant to stop what I was doing, get up, and take the stuff over to her house (yes, I am lazy some times :)

Mike had just finished dinner and so I told him to dish up the plates and I'll be right back, I had to go take this stuff to Andreas. I grabbed the stuff and darted out the door. Once I opened Andreas door I saw her and heard a huge "SURPRISE". I think I must have looked like a deer in the head lights because I had no idea what was going on!

It took a couple seconds to get what was going on and I was so happy. In my mind my friend Andrea had thrown me a surprise party. I said, "let me go get my hubby". I ran back to my apartment feeling bad that Mike had just cooked dinner and now there was a party with food for us, but oh well now we will have food for later.

I opened the door and said, "Hey guess what, Andrea threw..........." that's as far as I got until I noticed he was holding grocery bags full of food and drinks for the party. What!!!! You planned this?????

Holy crap, I was confused and SUPER EXCITED all at once!!!!

What a great surprise! I LOVE YOU MIKE!!!!

This is the AWESOME husband behind the great event!

Me, super excited and super shocked!

Hilary Lal

My Andrea & Nick, thanks for a adventurous weekend :)

Ky & Spence enjoy "Sherbet", we all learned how to say it correctly. Folks there is no 'r' between the e & t.

Nick did a FAB job decorating and getting the cake glowing

Happy Birthday to ME :)

My FAVORITE cake, any cake that I don't have to make!

Best Friend + Beach = Nichole's Heaven!

Last Saturday was one of my first weekends (in a LONG time) that I have been out the 100 degree kitchen. Cakes & baking can be consuming!

We took advantage of this opportunity by soaking in the sun, Mike teaching me the "proper" techniques of body surfing (I guess I have been doing it wrong lol) and having much need quality time together.

I love family-in-laws! Mike snagged this awesome blow up bed thingy last time we went to visit, thank you mom & dad Chism :)

How to surf waves on a blow up floaty bed thingy:
1. Blow it up, thank you Mike
2. Get in the water and paddle out just past the wave brake
3. Turn and position your self for the next wave
4. Paddle your brains out and hope the wave catches you
or
In my case I had Mike launch me into the waves as they came, very effective method :)

Mike after a sweet ride. You should have seen peoples faces, priceless! They gave us the "what are you doing, wow that looks like fun, gee I wish I had a blow up bed thingy too" look.

I love this picture. This family arrives at the beach and in a matter of seconds the little boys are grabbing their stuff and catapulting into the water.

Our stuff edited with some random feature of CS4 , thought it was pretty cool lol

What: 3 months traveling
Where: England, Holland, Belgium, France, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Spain, Ireland

Reasons why:
1. Justin and I grew tons closer, made some killer memories, and didn't kill each other (he is one of my best friends)
2. I gained a sense of what I was capable of
3. I gained a greater appreciation for other people, cultures, and customs (we are all brothers & sisters, lets just all get along. LoVe & PeAcE!

Backpacks, passports, tickets Europe here we come!

We did a lot of this, walking!

And a lot of this - sleeping over night on the ferry ride to the islands . We would try and book all of our trains, ferries, & buses over night so we would have a free place to sleep.

England, oh England.

Check out the guards face at Buckingham Palace, hilarious!!! He is looking right at the camera.

Welcome to 3 months of communal living! Next time bring ear plugs and an eye mask to shield out light.

Fish n' Chips English style = Awesome memories of our childhood in New Zealand

Holland = crazy people, drugs, red light district, bicycles, and Beautiful streets

Ahh my favorite lady of all time.
Check her out: reading, little tree = little shade, sitting on a little stool = TOTAL AWESOMENESS

Had to throw one of these in. Amsterdam!!!

Yes we did have to go see the famous windmills

Justin doing his "sexy" pose!

Belgium, again the most enchanting streets and homes!

Chocolate lovers beware Belgium will suck you in.
Chocolate & Waffles = I am in Heaven

Rome is the coolest place to see things how they were billions of years ago. In the streets you would see massive pillars just toppled over. It seems as though nothing has changed

Venice Italy city of romance, to bad I was with my brother lol

Look at how enchanting this city on water is

What the heck is all I can say about this!

My favorite statue of all time

Fresh markets are the BOMB!!!! Fresh produce, meats, and pretty much anything else you can think of.

Cinderella's castle

Justin in Germany with all that's left of the wall

A day of mourning and pain. The air at concentration camps penetrates your soul!

Paris France

Check out Justin's face, he is super excited to be here
After a million museums, art galleries, and exhibits they all start looking the same

Mont St Michell (western France)

Mick, you made me laugh hysterically. I am laughing right now as I think about you, thank you for that. Mick was a traveling music street busker.

Justin and I practicing our war skills

Happy Backpackers

All over Europe there is awesomely cool random art

Classic

Corfu (and island off of Greece) there were this (nasty) kittens that loved Justin

One of my favorite days, 13 backpackers with 13 ATVs roaming the streets of Corfu. You should have seen the locals faces as we can barreling down the road.
