Have You Ever.......
yes,my life is full of crazy and somewhat embarrassing moments :)

1. Have you ever walked into the wrong bathroom, not realizing it was the wrong one until you saw the urinals?

2. Have you ever made an animal homeless, by accident (see earlier bee post)?

3. Have you ever gotten someones name for a gift exchange that you know secretly dislikes you?

4. Have you ever secretly farted and then blamed it on an elderly person close by?

5. Have you ever gotten so surprised you started crying?

*Well until next Wednesday
Have you ever....

Christmas Travel

Travel Tip - Never sit in the seats in front of the Exit row.
Your seats DON'T lay back!

On a positive note, I LOVE my family, especially my grandpa!

So the long flights, lack of sleep, and sore neck were well worth it.

Better Late Than Never

Celebrate 3 years of Glorious Marriage With Us!

Yes, Its been 3 years.

Before we got married many tired to give us advice and warn us about how difficult our first year(s) of  marriage would be. Little did they know "Us".  We have loved being married from day 1. Our first, second, and now third year have been amazing.

I can honestly say that I am more in love with my husband now than when we first got married.

Advice that we got that I wish I could tell every couple.....

There are 3 simple rules for a happy and successful marriage -

1. Always put the other person first
2. Whoever cares more (or is more emotionally attached) to an issue of argument let them win
3. Whoever is more financially savvy let them take the lead on the finances

My Top 5 Favorite Things About Christmas...

# 5. Going to the mall not to shop but just to people watch. It's quite entertaining to see grown adults acting like children; grabbing for gifts, pushing in line, and throwing tantrums when they can't find what they are looking for. The Holiday Season, people at their finest.

I think far to many people have forgotten what this season is really about, Christ

# 4. Obnoxious out of control yard decorations, this Reindeer is literally taller than all the houses, love it!

                                                       # 3. Ugly Christmas sweater parties

# 2. Glitter. I don't know why but for me Christmas and Glitter just go together. Ever single Christmas decoration I own has glitter on it.

# 1.  Yes, of coarse my most favorite thing about Christmas is spending time with my hubby :)

If You Can't Find an Ugly Sweater, Make Your Own

1. Find an old sweater or buy one. The cheapest places are a thrift store or Walmart.

2. Buy random crafts at Michael's, currently they have 70% off Christmas decor

 3. Buy a glue gun and start gluing

There you have it, homemade Ugly Sweaters

Have you ever picked up a hitchhiker?

As I was driving home the other night I saw this little guy hanging on for dear life.
His little legs and backside were flapping in the wind, I was positive that he wouldn't make it all the way.
But sure enough by the time I pulled in the driveway, 22 miles and 30 minutes later, he was still hanging on.
For some reason I had this sad feeling that somehow I just made him homeless?

I'm a bee, I'm a bee, I'm a bee, bee, bee

Have You Ever...

Have you ever been trying to open the trunk of your car, then realized that's not your car?

Have you ever tripped over an imaginary line in front of all of your co-workers, then tried to walk it off like nothing happened?

Have you ever let your boss walk around all day with food stuck in his teeth because you were to embarrassed to tell him?

Temple - Bowling - Birthday

For anyone who has never been to Salt Lake City UT, I would highly recommend visiting to Mormon Temple.
It is especially beautiful during the Christmas season, full of lights, people, performances, and best of all it's all FREE

*Cheap date idea - get hot chocolate and wander around the lights

Competition anyone?
Mike and I married into the right families, they are both super competitive.

*Said to say I finished dead last in bowling

Don't you just love Tom?
He is the BEST father-in-law, super funny, entertaining, and a blast to be around.

Daxton, my 10 yr old nephew, I love this kid!

Little story - Daxton was sitting on my lap watching a movie one night and I said, "wow Dax I can't believe you're already 10 years old, time has flown by". He looks up at me with those big brown eyes and replies, "Auntie Knee - Cole you have missed two years of my life".

Talk about a tearful moment, I thought I was going to start bawling that second.

It's so true though, since Mike and I have been married we have been out of Utah. This little experience made us both want to back up and move back home.

Love my Dad

On the drive back to CA
Little travel tip - If you want to save a little money drive instead of fly. Yes, it takes a bit longer but who doesn't love a good road trip?

Two plane tickets from CA to UT - $ 640
Gas from CA to UT - $185
Saved - $455

*One perk of doing a road trip is you get to see crazy individuals car decor.
- This on obviously thinks their car is a reindeer

Light Ceremony & Turkey Feast

Can you see the steepness of the roof?
Yes, Mike and holding on to Matt with nothing more than a yellow rope wrapped around his waist

Don't just love how my dad is standing on the ground critiquing the work while the guys are doing the actual work.

The eating extravaganza begins
Having both of our families in Utah means two Thanksgiving Feasts
Elastic waist band pants here I come!
(and yes I did wear elastic waist band pants)

Mike, decided this year he would forgo the traditional plate
Instead he found this massive platter

Classic family photo time

Mike and I are truly blessed with two amazing families to be apart of

 Two Love Birds Learning:

how to take care of a car

Secretly, I would love to be a mechanic. I wouldn't quit my job to work in a garage or anything I would just love to know how to fix my own car.

Don't you always feel like the minute you step into a car repair shop that your bank account suddenly gets sucked dry.

We just got a new car, well not technically new, but it's new to us.

The things we have learned so far:
1. When the maintenance light comes on in the dash board don't freak out. What it's usually telling you is that it's time for a routine oil change.
2. If your check engine light ever comes on don't take it straight to a mechanic. First take it to your local parts store: Pep Boys autoparts, Auto Zone or any place like that and have them run a FREE diagnostics test (basically they hook up a computer to your car and tell you what is wrong for free).
3. Whenever you are having ANYTHING done to your car be present. Watch what they are doing, this not only helps you learn more about your bar but you are able to make sure they do what they say they are going to do.

*I took the car to get new belts and new transmission fluid. The belts were changed but the fluid wasn't touch. If I hadn't been watching then I would have paid for something that wasn't done. Thank goodness the manager was awesome and believed me when I proceeded to tell him that my fluid had not been changed even though the mechanic said he did it (and they wonder why no one trusts them?). Finally, my fluid got changed and I was back on the road. Major lesson: WATCH YOUR CAR

I would love to start filming my own "How to ............to your car" videos not only to learn how to do the things myself but to help others save money by learning how to fix their own vehicles.

craigslist.org oh how I love you!

Ok, for those of you who don't know I love working out. It's something about the gasping for air because I am so out of breath, making my heart pound so hard I can hear it in my ears, and sweat running down my back that I love. Call me crazy, but I love it.

I used to be able to speed home from work in time to get a quick run in while the sun was just finishing setting. It makes me a little nervous to go running outside by myself in the evenings, even though when I run, I carry mace. And now with this new day lights saving thing going on it's absolutely impossible to make it home and get a run in before it's pitch black.

And this dilemma started The Hunt!

Thanks to Craigslits.org and an amazing husband we were able to buy this brand new 2011 Nordic Track c900 treadmill for only $350 retail value $1599

It still had the tags on the thing!

Now when I get home from work I put on my favorite show and run until my heart is content, thanks again people selling stuff on craigslist :)

I love holidays, especially ones that give me a reason to dress up!

Some of our house decor and yes, I love the "darkness" about Halloween :)

I have gotten really into spiders this year. I hate real spiders but I LOVE fake ones. We have spiders all over our house (fake ones that is).

We have two ceiling fans in our living room and there is a skeleton hanging from each one :)

We thought this would go great in house since my is studying to be an optometrist.
