Copan Ruinas

More ruins……yahoo for archeology. By this time in our trip Mike and I are a little over looking at colonial cities, ruins, buildings, cathedrals, and all other structure like things. Pretty much we just want to relax on a beach, do some more scuba, and drink a pina colada (virgin or course).

But since we are traveling and not always right next to the ocean we go to all the cool tourist things recommended by lonely planet and other travelers.

Copan Ruinas are known as the Paris of ruins, full of art and sculptures. The majority of the ruins are still buried or have been destroyed over time but what is left of them is quite exquisite.

The longest recorded hieroglyphic writing in the Mayan civilization, 64 stairs.

The local bus system, a little scary if you ask me but it seems to get the job done
